It doesn’t get much better than October in Atlanta. In the south, this autumn month is full
of bright sunshine that falls all over the jewel-tone hues of the season. These are four things I am looking
forward to this October.
You can find a home tour in Atlanta just about any season,
but October is Ansley Park’s turn and it is not to be missed. Ansley Park is
one of my favorite neighborhoods. Its smack in the middle of the city, filled
with a healthy mix of classical and contemporary architecture and its residents
know how to have a good time. The tour is open to the public and runs October
18 – 19.
Apple picking in the North Georgia Mountains has definitely
been on my list since we moved to Atlanta, but I have not made it yet. This
year I want to change that! The Hillcrest Orchards is one option just a little
over an hour north of the city.
Once you have all those fresh-off-the-trees apples picked,
head home to make these perfect fall pancakes. Leave it to Martha to nail the
season in a warm, gooey cake that you can eat for breakfast. The homemade pink applesauce will put those fresh apples to good use.
Fall is my most favorite time of year for clothes. You’d
think I’d love summer fashion, being from South Florida, but maybe that’s
exactly why I love the layers that I never needed growing up. This is the
jacket I want this season. This is also the jacket I will not have this season,
but a girl can dream.
