‘Repurposed for a purpose’ is the tagline of sister-owned,
New York City based accessory line Sword and Plough, and I’d say they certainly
live up to that claim. This guy agrees.
When Nunez sisters Emily, who served as an Officer in the
U.S. Army, and her sister Betsy created Sword & Plough, they wanted
something that would act as a reminder of American servicemens' daily
struggles. BUT, they wanted that reminder to be beautiful and
useful.
Sword & Plough’s products are made from recycled and
repurposed military gear. That fact alone is pretty inspiring to me, but their commitment goes much further. In addition, the company hires a workforce
of veterans and are dedicated to strengthening the civil-military relationship, which they
talk about here.
Bonus- these bags are great looking. I’d be proud to carry
one on my arm. Here are five of my favorite Sword & Plough products.
