My love affair with Angie Hranowsky’s work goes pretty far
back. Angie and her interior design firm are based in Charleston, thus
continuing this week’s Charleston theme and making me wish #FlashbackFriday was
a real thing.
For this project, Angie teamed with Darius Rucker and his
family on the design of their stunning home. Rucker is a singer, songwriter and
frontman of Hootie & the Blowfish and more recently has released
chart-topping records on his own. The foot-tapping remake ‘Wagon Wheel’ is one
of my personal favorite singles.
One other thing Rucker and his family have going for them?
Really good taste. This home is not only drop-dead gorgeous, but its also
teeming with character and warmth. I’m pretty sure Beth (Rucker’s wife and mom
to their three kids) and I would be fast friends.
Typically I love Angie’s use of color on the walls. In a
world of all white all the time, her soft palette of colors can be pretty
refreshing. However in this open, breezy home it just doesn’t get much better
than the crispest white as a backdrop to warm stained wood, bright artwork
and loads of texture.
This home, as with all of Angie’s work, is modern,
traditional, eclectic, timeless, classic, and on-trend. How can one place be
all of those things at once? Thank you, Angie, for continuing to knock my
socks off.
