Planted Presents - Last Minute Gift Idea!

Plants are such great gifts. They are friendly and beautiful and you think of the person who gave you the plant every time you water it. Plants also make a great last-minute Christmas gift because they aren't sold out, you don't have to go to the mall to buy them and you can personalize your plant selection to fit the gift receiver's personality (and your budget).

The lemon tree has got to be my personal favorite. I love them potted like in the kitchen below. In addition to them looking chic and welcoming, we use so many lemons that it would be great to just grab one off our tree when we need it. Its the gift that keeps giving!

Orchids are the perfect flowering plant gift as they typically last a long time. An orchid looks good in basically any aesthetic. A single stem feels a little more contemporary or formal. A group of potted orchids, like below, is more causal. I love them this way.

The fiddle leaf fig tree has been the design world's plant of choice for the last few years. You can buy one smaller than pictured below, but they do get big so make sure the gift recipient has a good spot for one. The fiddle leaf isn't the easiest plant to keep alive, might want to gift this guy to your greener thumbed friends or family.

My favorite local Atlanta nurseries to grab a planted present are Pike Nurseries and Habersham Gardens.

  1. We had a lemon tree that started out that size and then became the biggest in the yard. That one goes to someone with a yard to plant it in once it grows!
